A few questions about Jewish tradition(s)

Postby lyndie » Thu Oct 08, 2009 12:44 pm

Hey everyone. I'm cooking dinner (this Sunday, Oct. 11th) for a couple at our church who just had their first baby. I had an idea to, instead of bringing them plastic and paper plates/bowls (although I know its beneficial b/c there's less clean-up work), to bring them a pot (that I bring the soup in) and two really neat bowls to keep. I found everything at Homegoods for like SUPER CHEAP (I'm excited)! I wanted to attach a cute little note explaining what I remember being taught at LCMF: that Jewish tradition was for the dinner guests to bring the dishes and let the hosts keep them. Does anyone know where to find references for this information so I can come up with a cute little note to attach to the soup bowl lid??

Also, I was just thinking about the significance of the 4 cups and wondering if there was a sermon online within the LCMF archives that I could listen to. Or notes or something??

That's all for now.

Thanks! Love you all,

Lyndie
